Our Early Head Start and Prevention Initiative Home Visiting Program provides individualized services to pregnant women, infants, and toddlers to promote the school readiness of young children from low-income families. If you are expecting or have children from birth to 3 years old you are eligible to participate and obtain support to enhance your child’s cognitive, social, and emotional development.
Our qualified Parent Educators collaborate with parents to
- Develop individualized services to help them achieve their goals.
- Provide child-development education and parenting information to help parents create safe, stimulating home environments.
- Model positive and language-rich relationships and ensure families stay connected to medical, dental, mental health, and other supports.
- Participants commit to home visits weekly (EHS)/Biweekly (PI) monthly socialization events, and development screenings.
- Working in the comfort of the home allows the Parent Educator and the family to form intimate, trusting relationships.
- The parent’s ability to recreate child development experiences after the home visitor leaves is of the upmost importance.
- Using the Parents as Teachers model, parent educators assist parents in learning about their child’s development and creating educational curriculum to maximize that development.
- Parent Educators will connect you with basic essentials and resources.
- Initiative: After three consecutive attended group socializations you win bonus points to obtain additional essentials for you and your child.
