Ms. Rosaura Arellano has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Lactation Counselor Certificate. Ms. Arrellano has over 20 years of experience in the social service and has been working at El Hogar del Niño since 1996.
- Maria HeidkampPrograms Director
I have 19 years of experience working at El Hogar. I was hired to open the first 2-year-old classroom at El Hogar. I became an Early Head Start Education Coordinator and am currently the Program Director. I received my Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from National Louis University with a Level 5 ECE and Infant and Toddler Credential. My passion is working with children and families in our Early Childhood program. It is an incredibly rewarding job because I believe our children deserve the highest quality education we can provide. I also love being able to connect with our families who are the first teachers of their children. I also appreciate all the opportunities that El Hogar has provided me to continue to grow in my profession.

Mr. Hugo Nieto received an Associate’s degree from a community college in Computer Information Systems. As a result, this degree provided him with the opportunity to obtained his first job as a computer technician. On May of 2018, he received his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with a concentration in Information Technology. Being the first one in his family tree to obtain such a degree, fulfilled him with great pride.
Through the years he has acquired a tremendous set of skills and knowledge in the Information Technology field. El Hogar Del Nino has provided him with such knowledge and skills through the 10 years he has been working there. Together with this organization, he keeps growing up professionally. Currently, he manage the IT and Facilities departments.
- Maribel CastilloFinance Coordinator
Maribel Castillo’s financial knowledge and experience comes from working 30 years directly in the finance department at El Hogar del Nino. At a very young age she started working at El Hogar in 1991. She is highly committed, valuing transparency and integrity working alongside a dedicated leadership team. Maribel is responsible for El Hogar’s financial day to day operations and is most proud of raising two daughters that are currently attending DePaul and Columbia College.
